An Invitation for Submissions for our Children's Art Show

Children's Art Show

We are inviting children in the area to submit their original artwork to be displayed and sold at this year’s Children’s Art Showcase.

“We’re very excited about the show this year,” says Rievaj.  “With art, there is no right or wrong.  As a result, artistic expression is a positive, inexpensive, way for children to build confidence.  We are providing an opportunity for the budding artists in our community to showcase their work.  We had tremendously positive feedback after last year’s event.  We had thankful parents comment that unlike their athletic counterparts, their young artists aren’t often given a public venue to be praised for their talents.”

Last year’s proceeds were donated to a Fort McMurray youth Art Centre that was affected by the fires.  This year the firm has partnered with local artist Sadie Jane of Seaborn Art Studio.  Seaborn Art Studio regularly hosts ‘Paint It Forward’ fundraisers to support a wide range of local groups.  On July 29th she is hosting one to support the Marsden family so they can be at their son Hunter’s side while he battles cancer.  “We reached out to Ms. Jane because we felt her efforts at giving back through her business are mirroring what we are trying to do in the community,” says Highlander Law Group founder, Dianna Rievaj.  “And in recognition of this partnership we’ve chosen ‘Shining a Light on the Beauty of Giving’ as our theme for the show this year.”

The event, which will run alongside the Peggy’s Cove Festival of the Arts, will be held from July 12th – 14th at the offices of Highlander Law Group.  A gallery space will be open to the public from the hours of 9:00-4:00pm.  Following the public viewing, the firm will host a private reception on Friday evening for the artists and their family.  The art will be for sale with 50% of the proceeds being donated to the Marsden family through Seaborn Art Studio and 50% going to the young artists.
